Nowadays, the Doggy Clube Obedience Team
is the National Champion by Teams and Individual with the team
Pedro Araújo & Xhosa. Our other three teams have qualified as
well in excellent places, putting ourselves in the 2nd
place of the School Ranking.
This goal is the result
of lots of years of consistent work and training in order to
promote Obedience…
Our centre was established in Montijo in 1998, by Pedro Araújo,
with the main aim of teaching people how to train their own dog,
in a canine programme of easy access for the dogs and their
owners, taking them to competition if it is their wish.
In
this way, we intend to contribute for the development of the
canine sports, sharing our knowledge and experiences with
people, who are passionate with dogs and their training.
Thus, Doggy Clube, Centro de Treinos para Cães was born.
We also intend to minimize animal’s suffer
in that some of them are all day stuck at home with no activity
at all. Going to school is a good way to promote exercise and
fun for the dogs and owner, because the best reward that a dog
could have is certainly be able to work with its best friend and
be in its company.
In 1999, we started our participation in
Obedience Trials, in Portugal. We made it through the whole four
levels leaving us to Elite, the maximum level of National and
International competition.
